Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation Review

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation – £30

I first mentioned this Foundation back in my ‘Tarte Maneater Must Haves’ post and said I was excited to try it.

I’ve been wearing this as my everyday foundation for a couple of weeks now and I thought I’d let you all know how I’m finding it.

I always prime my skin with the Superdrug Vitamin E Radiance Moisture Cream and NYX Colour Corrector Primer in Green.

I’m a full coverage Foundation kind of person so I was really looking forward to this.
The consistency is quite thick and almost like a mousse texture so I was interested to see how it blended.

I’ve been blending this Foundation with a damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge as I find it keeps the coverage high and blends the easiest.

I use the shade ‘fair sand’ and considering I chose the shade online without ever seeing it, it is a perfect match for me.

Below is a picture of half my face naked (sorry) and the other half with one layer of the Foundation blended in so you can get a good idea of the colour match and coverage.

It’s a good coverage but I’d say calling it full coverage is a big statement.
The colour is really natural and matches my skin tone well.

It’s light and comfortable on the skin and doesn’t feel heavy through out the day.

Other products such as concealer blend really well on top of this Foundation and my Rimmel Stay Matte powder sets this in place really well.
I find it lasts well all day but it does start to thin out and go patchy after about 6-8 hours.

I say I loose coverage on my spotty patches first, probably due to them being oily.

Overall for £30, I will be repurchasing as I do enjoy this Foundation and find it easy to work with.

I think if you had dryer skin than me, you may struggle as my skin is a combination skin type.

I hope you found this post interesting if you were looking at purchasing this Foundation.

As I mentioned I have bad/acne prone skin so if you’d like some posts related to how I deal with that/ products that work best for me then let me know.
