Before we get started, I just wanted to say that all these products recommendations are coming from me, I am not a professional or a dermatologist, I do have a beauty qualification but that doesn’t make me an acne expert. I have acne prone skin and these are the products that work best for me, but everyone is different!
When you have acne prone skin it can be easy to try and throw all these products at your face and try different formulas and chemicals but I’ve always found my skin is happiest with a simple routine.
I still do not have clear skin but I’ve learnt to manage it and started to know what products work best and find my skin doesn’t flare up with any of these products.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
I’ve used this for years, it’s such an affordable product and really works! I use this with cotton wool pads to remove my makeup every night as well as giving my skin a quick cleanse in a morning before applying makeup. My favourite micellar water I’ve tried!
Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash
This is another product I’ve used for years as I avoid messing with my routine too often as that flares up my skin! I use this product to wash/cleanse my skin in the shower or bath. It’s gentle and gets rid of any dirt or left over makeup! It’s a gel formula and is really affordable to buy. It’s from the ‘Visibly Clear’ range and therefore is gentle for acne skin.
Pixi Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner
I was always told you should tone to rebalance the PH levels in your skin and close pores to avoid creating spots and blackheads. Whether that’s the case or not, I do feel it just seals my skin and refines the texture and this is my favourite toner I’ve used.
Clarins Hydra Quench Cream Mask
I avoid face masks in general as I find they pull my spots out but sometimes my skin feels tight, dry and dehydrated, so I find this hydrating cream mask from Clarins is a really good but gentle surge of moisture for my skin. This isn’t the most affordable product but I use it maybe once a week when I have a pamper night and it just gives my skin a glow.
Superdrug Vitamin E Radiance Moisture Cream
I’ve mentioned this product in previous makeup posts, I love it! This £2.99 cream is the only moisturiser that’s ever visibly worked for me! It’s a really nourishing formula, and a great base for makeup! I get a lot of dry skin on my eyes and this is so gentle that I can spread it lightly over my eyelids when I’m doing the rest of my face and it’s helped clear that up too! A tiny amount goes a long way!
I hope this post has helped if you’re struggling with your skin and looking for some products that could help!
I find these products maintain an ‘ok’ skin condition for me instead of dramatically improving it.
If you have any products that have helped clear your skin up, let me know as I’d love to try them!
If you’d like to hear my acne story/journey and what I’ve done to help, I’d love to share that!
