Whether you call it hand luggage or carry on luggage, it’s essential that you pack it with everything you need for travelling, and I sometimes find it can be so difficult to remember what to take and there’s nothing worse than forgetting to put something in.
As I mentioned in my last post, it’s ‘Holiday Week’ on the blog this week as I am finally off on my summer holiday this weekend, so I’m currently in the process of packing, so I thought I’d share with you what I am packing in my hand luggage.
Before I let you in what is inside the bag, I thought I’d show you the actual bag. I decided to get a new bag this year but didn’t want to spend too much. I love a designer bag and always feel really good carrying one, but when it comes to travelling, I hate how damaged luggage gets, and I even find my hand luggage bag ends up getting scuffed and misshaped, so I decided to go for a bag that was perfect for the job, but not too expensive.
I chose this grey tote bag with chain detailing on the front from Topshop, it’s a perfect size, a really flexible but durable material, and I still think it looks really stylish. It was £26 and you can shop it here!
Everyones carry on essentials will vary, but for me, this is what I always pack:
- purse with both English money and foreign currency
- passport/boarding pass
- a bottle of water (I buy this once I’m through security due to liquid limits)
- snacks (gluten free for me)
- warm socks
- spare jumper/hoodie
- reading glasses
Depending on the length of your flight, you may wish to take skin care and makeup etc, but these are the beauty bits I always have, no matter where I’m travelling to. I always pack these in a clear makeup bag, have no aerosols and ensure everything is within the liquid limits:
- roll on deodorant
- small body spray/perfume
- lip balm/Vaseline
- small hand cream
- small sun cream/SPF
- sanitary products
- sample size mascara
I’m a really nervous flyer and a bit of a hypochondriac, so having some of my little medical supplies with me makes me a lot calmer:
- rescue remedy pastilles
- antibacterial hand gel
That is everything I have thought of so far and put in my carry on bag. If you can think of anything else that you think I need to have with me, please do let me know and I’ll be sure to put it in.
I hope this has been useful.
