I’ll put my hands up and admit it, I’m not a reader/book lover, I never have been and I really struggle to get into a book. However, over the last couple of years, I have found a few that have actually managed to draw me in, and I have to admit, my favourites are usually youtuber/blogger books.
Although its holiday week on the blog, and that’s what gave me the inspiration to share my book recommendations with you because most people grasp the opportunity for some reading time whilst on their holidays, I also thought this might just be interesting for people looking to get into a new book.
I’m not usually a novel/story book kind of person, and if I am to read a book, it’s usually more of a non-fiction, but I must say, I really enjoyed the first Girl Online book by Zoella. I can’t say I’ve read the second and third in the series, but I read the first book cover to cover in a matter of days and really enjoyed the story line. If you’re into young-adult fiction then this is a great read, and very easy going. The books are all now available in paper back too so they’re light in your luggage.
All The Bright Places
For someone who claims to not read fiction, I’m recommending a lot of fiction books… Seriously though, THIS BOOK!! I got it through the Zoella book club and took it on holiday and actually finished it in the week I was away. It is a little more grown up than Girl Online but still comes under YA fiction. The story and underlying messages are amazing, and I’d really recommend.
Capture Your Style
Finally, some non-fiction, and a great one at that! This book is ideal for all blog/Instagram fanatics as it is all about tips and tricks for both photography and building up your Instagram following. It’s such an easy read, and good for just picking up now and again. It’s also a great addition to an Instagram thanks to the pretty cover.
The Glam Guide
Another youtuber book but they really are all I read as I find as a non-book lover, they’re easy to get into. The Glam Guide by Fleur De Force is a nice book filled with different tips and advice from cooking, to beauty, hair to style, and basically all things girly. I chose this one over her other book ‘The Luxe Life’ as the actual book is lighter to carry which is better for travel.
So, there you have it, my top 4 book recommendations for non-readers. I hope this has either given you a new book to pick up, or inspired you to try reading if you’re like me, and not usually into it.
I’d love to hear your suggestions for easy reads, both fiction and non-fiction, so leave them in the comments below.
