Being an acne sufferer, I spend my life looking for the perfect foundation. I have tried so many different foundations from different brands and of different finishes and consistencies and although i’m a real fan of the MAC Studio Fix Fluid, I think the No7 Beautifully Matte may have become my new favourite.
I first tried the No7 Beautifully Matte foundation around a year ago and to be honest, I wasn’t overly impressed when I first used it and didn’t pick it up again for a while. I started mixing it with the L’Oreal True Match foundation a while back and when that ran out, I just started using the No7 foundation alone and really fell in love with it.
This foundation is available from Boots only as No7 is a Boots own brand and it retails for £15.
I use the lightest shade ‘Calico’, which is a perfect shade for me, which isn’t surprising as they use one of those machines that colour match you to the right shade. It was the first time I had ever been matched using one of these machines and i’m really impressed with the accuracy of it because the shade is a perfect match.
Formula / Coverage
This foundation is a liquid consistency and is relatively thick as the coverage is quite high. No7 describe the foundation as a ‘medium/full’ coverage and I would definitely agree with this. The foundation is designed for normal to oily skin and seen as I have combination/oily skin, this foundation really works well for me.
The foundation is described as a ‘all day velvet matte perfection’ finish and I think this is a good description for the finish. Considering I do have acne, this foundation makes my skin look so smooth and even and in turn I feel really confident wearing it.
Apart from the MAC foundation I use, no other foundations give me the same great coverage and finish as this foundation, so for the price I would highly recommend it if your skin is similar to mine.
I’d love to know which foundations you feel really great wearing, so let me know in the comments!
